Opening Restored Facilities
Led by Project Director Grace Goodman, and Buildings Committee Chair Michael Koehn, Judson began renovations in mid July 2011 of the Church bathrooms, the music room, and The Gym@Judson.
- New bathrooms: new walls, plumbing, electricity, ventilation ducts, and are getting tiled floors.
- The GYM @ Judson: new acoustic treatments, and ventilation ducts
- The old front-office suite is turned into a new Music Room, with new flooring and paint.
- The front stairs from 55 Washington Square South have been hand-sanded and will be refinished to their former glory.
Conversion of the Gym to a theater includes creation of two dressing rooms entered through a small "green room" in the former Music Room, and transformation of the old Women's Room into a storage and stage manager's room.
Much thanks to the building committee:
Michael Koehn, Chair, Reathel Bean, Lewis Flinn, Jean Ovitt, Jon Tenney, Martha Giardina, Grace Goodman as well as staff, Erich Hahn, Judson's administrator, and Channing Redford, architect.
