Wednesday Night Wisdom

A spiritual experiment...

Noted Biblical scholar Walter Brueggemann writes,

The Psalms, with a few exceptions, are not the voice of God addressing us. They are rather the voice of our own common humanity--gathered over a long period of time, but a voice that continues to have amazing authenticity and contemporaneity. . .And so when we turn to the Psalms it means we enter into the middle of that voice of humanity and decide to take our stand with that voice.

Wednesday, October 24 6-7pm in the Garden Room, Micah Bucey and Holly Bean will lead the last of Judson's current series on the Psalms. We will listen to the Psalms that each of us bring to the gathering--whether favorites or those we like the least. So please bring one along with you. If you do not have a favorite (or least favorite), come anyway. We will, to paraphrase Brueggemann, attempt to enter into the voices we hear in the Psalms and their echoes in our own lives. We may even sing a few.
