MEETING ROOM (ENTER by way of 55 Washington Square South)
Project Streetwork (named after the hit TV show, Project Runway) brings together volunteers from the global apparel company PVH with clients from Streetwork Project, Safe Horizon's program for homeless young people in New York City. Now in its fifth year, Project Streetwork comprises four weeks of design workshops led by PVH designers during which young people work on mood boards, design looks, and create outfits from donated fabric and materials. The workshops culminate in a runway show where Streetwork clients model the unique looks they’ve created and a panel of expert judges provides feedback. This year, the Project Streetwork theme is “Carnaval” and following the show there will be a mini ball for Streetwork clients, volunteers and members of the community.
