The People's Judson: Give Us The Ballot
A Special Service Commemorating Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and the Tyranny of the Now
This will be an evening of worship and fellowship as we seek to connect the intersection of voting rights and anti-black racism. Dr. King’s powerful address “Give Us the Ballot” was delivered on May 17, 1957 at the Prayer Pilgrimage for Freedom calling the federal government to fulfill the promise of the three-year-old Brown v. Board of Education decision.
This powerful speech is eerily relevant today as we implore the Biden Administration and the democratically led House and Senate to protect voting rights, alongside the imperative of dismantling white supremacy culture within our spheres of influence.
