Second Skin: MONSTER,” is an LIVE exploration of actualizing the self. The performance roots its audience in the concept of image, perception, the butterfly effect, mirroring, generating and world-building. MONSTER deconstructs unwarranted trauma by creating ancestral pivots within space by utilizing a series of task-based movements, choreographies, and space-oriented ritual. Working with physical theater, testimony, sound, light, and space, we manifest versions of ourselves that may exist across infinity- as autonomous beings.
"Second Skin: MONSTER" Curated by Malcom X Bettes & Arien Wilkerson part of Judson Arts Wednesdays: An evening-length experience, open to the public, and includes a free meal.
"Second Skin: MONSTER" is the latest LIVE performance independent work on the Magnus Works platform. Their last iteration, “Second Skin: IMPOSTER” Chapter 3, premiered at the Prelude Arts Festival hosted by the CUNY Graduate Center's Martin E. Segal Theater Center in 2021, as Part 3 of the episodic feature film, is still in development.
