Performa is proud to announce the official launch of Remembering a Dance: Parts of Some Sextets, 1965/2019, a new publication exploring Rainer’s reimagining of her iconic 1965 performance, Parts of Some Sextets (PoSS), for the 2019 Performa Biennial in New York. 
 
In collaboration with Emily Coates, Parts of Some Sextets simultaneously remade history and formed an entirely new work. This new publication explores every aspect of Rainer’s reconstruction, addressing how we write and rewrite history through our actions and words, elucidating on how artistic choices of what to include and what to omit—consciously and unconsciously—contribute to the larger social narrative of what we remember and what we forget. 
 
Remembering a Dance will be available for purchase at the event, and Rainer will be present for signing throughout the evening.
