Sunday Worship: Celebrating Dolly Parton
The Grass is Blue: A Celebration of the Spirited and Scrappy Sass of Dolly Parton
This Homecoming Sunday, Micah (arguably Dolly Parton's loudest fangirl) will pay tribute to the faith-fueled life and lyricism of the recently departed superstar. With the musical assistance of some beloved Judson voices, we'll sing, celebrate, and dig deeply into the imperfect but always inspiring work of this inimitable icon, an artist who would never want to be called a "saint," but whose legacy of staying true to her roots while expanding into an ever-open-hearted example of integrity, has something to teach us all. It's also Agape Sunday, so we'll gather our scrappy, imperfect selves around the communion table once again and remember what it means to embody Radical Hope in a world that keeps showing us the opposite. If you've got some vittles to share, bring 'em on down!
Join us in person or online here.
And join us afterward, for a mini congregational meeting, complete with a free community meal provided by EVLovesNYC, and followed by a Sing-Out from 1pm to 3pm!

At a moment of profound impunity, violence and, and abuses of power, 60 Million Survivors Rising seeks to disrupt the systems and cultures that enable sexual violence make visible the collective power of survivors rising together.

Sunday Service
w Rev. Micah Bucey
This Sunday, Micah will dive into one of Jesus's disorienting parables to question how "authority" has historically been offered, denied, and reclaimed. Who first told you stories of what you could and could not do, who you could and could not be? Let's gather in our sacred circle, hear and share some individual testimonies, and create a new invitation to embody our collective interdependence together.

Judson Arts Presents: “Manoeuvre 37” by Kyle Carr Scheurich
“Manoeuvre 37” is an evening length dance-theatre work choreographed/directed by Kyle Carr Scheurich with performances by Scheurich and Ben Green. The work explores themes of fractured identity, the esoteric, with influence from folklore stories of the supernatural and paranormal, while grounding them in human experience and emotional/mental states. Taking place in an artificial enclosure, the performers move between extreme states that work to establish a range of situations on stage. Governed by cosmic laws of the universe, the two figures pursue reunification by identifying with one another; through force and through shared experience. A variety of materials are used by the performers and thus transmute the function of each material.

Sunday Worship
ENEMY TERRITORY
with Rev. Elæ Moss Benedetto
This Sunday, many Judsonites (including Revs. Bridget and Micah) will be in Connecticut at the Judson Weekend in the woods, but we'll still hold a regular 11am service in person at Judson and online, led by Rev. Elæ Moss Benedetto, who will gently lead us into "Enemy Territory."
Who gets called an enemy—and what happens when we refuse the comfort of that label? This week, Rev. Elæ Moss Benedetto wrestles with the limits of “love the sinner,” the failures of purity tests and false binaries, and the hard work of naming harm without surrendering compassion. Through sacred text, song, testimony, and histories of resistance, we’ll ask what accountability, restorative justice, and collective care require when our communities, neighbors, rights, and planet are under attack. When does love look like a willingness—even a commitment—to sit at the table together, and when does love require drawing a hard line? Joined by special musical guest Rev. Andrew “Scrap” Livingston.

Our Online Meditation & Prayer practice is open to anyone who would like to join by computer or phone.
These quiet, contemplative sessions last an hour, beginning with an opening centering prayer, followed by about 10 minutes of silence, a devotional poetry reading, a sharing of prayer requests, another 10 minutes of silence, and a closing centering prayer. Details to log in or call in will remain the same each week.
