Dear Judson Community and Beyond,
If you were in service this Sunday you may have heard the wonderful Miry announce our upcoming SOLIDARITY SKILLS AND STRATEGIES day in the Judson Gym on March 22! [Sign up HERE]
You are welcome to come to ALL or SOME of the day's offerings, and this event will serve seasoned organizers, those just beginning their journey in activism, and simply anyone wanting to bring these skills back to their family, community, workplace, faith space, and beyond.
If you want to see and share this full event announcement as an IG post, you can find it here! There's also a flyer attached to this email you can print out and post on your local community board, or share with folks in your community you know would be served by these offerings!
Here's a little bit more about the different workshops and open hours:
This is an AMAZING program, offered for *free,* put together in collaboration with organizers and mutual aid orgs across the city, responding to our continued need to feel and be prepared for any number of scenarios -- and to acknowledge and sit with our bodyminds and how much they are carrying right now!
Feeling confident and informed makes such a difference not only in our physical actions on the ground but also how traumatized we feel -- not only in anticipation, during, and after challenging events. Skill training in community health and safety serves to demystify areas of fear, moving us out of uninformed panic into a space of discernment and familiarity with best practices.
If you'd like to join us, please sign up on this form (just so we can prep the room and the facilitators can know how many folks to expect) -- we also have room for additional people tabling, your org sharing supplies and/or literature, etc!
And of course please do email with questions! I hope to see many of you there, this is the first time we've been able to get the de-escalation training to happen too and also get the full first aid training to be held *on a saturday* for folks who work doing the week!
In solidarity and possibility,
ONWARD
